New Service Foundation and GTM Leadership to Accelerate Customer Success Globally
Today, I am excited to share with you some major announcements spanning the core Fauna service and leadership team that will accelerate our ability to execute on our mission:
" To make working with operational data productive, scalable and secure for every software development team. " |
In line with one of our most important core principles at Fauna, Solve for the Customer, we have been listening closely to a growing customer base. Growing both geographically and in terms of the size and sophistication of the teams and applications within those organizations leveraging Fauna.
So far in 2021, we have experienced 200+% growth in new customers from over 50 countries around the globe. Innovators like DIGITALAX and MeetKai, as well as teams within traditional companies are leveraging Fauna to help bring new products and solutions to market. They are benefiting from the improved developer productivity that Fauna offers while also eliminating the need to care and feed for any database infrastructure.
Our customers have asked for higher levels of compliance guarantees from our service and, for their applications, more fine-grained controls to manage their data residency needs depending on the geography in which they operate. And they want that all without adding any operational overhead.
And as they increase their investment in Fauna of course we need to ensure we have the right business and technical teams in place to make them successful.
Region Groups
Unique to Fauna, our Region Group architecture allows customers to meet local data residency requirements without compromising the performance, latency and reliability gained from distributing data across multiple cloud regions within a geography. No database operations required!
Fauna’s new capabilities enable companies to pin their data to a specific geographic area, called a Region Group. Within each Region Group, Fauna automatically distributes and scales across multiple cloud regions within that area to minimize query latency while ensuring data resiliency. All of this is done without any interaction from a Fauna customer, continuing to deliver on our zero database operations promise.
You can read more about Region Groups here.
SOC 2 Compliance
As a critical database infrastructure provider, Data security, availability, confidentiality, and reliability are must-have capabilities. As a cloud-native API Fauna was built with these requirements in mind. To demonstrate commitment to these principles Fauna chose the AICPA SOC2 framework of controls and is now SOC 2 Type 1 compliant. If you’d like to review all the details of the work that went into our certification, please be sure to check out the details in our SOC 2 compliance blog.
Trust.fauna.com
To make it easier for customers to discover and understand in more depth both the range and depth of investments we are making across security and reliability at Fauna we are also launching our new trust page . This includes a link to our status page so customers can get visibility into the current live service and how we have responded to past operational issues.
New Sales Leadership to Drive Customer Success
To ensure that we continue to scale a successful set of customers globally and expand on the vibrant partner ecosystem we have developed, I am super excited to announce that Matt Slagle has joined us as our new Vice President of Sales.
Matt joins Fauna from New Relic, where he helped grow the company from less than 100 employees and under $10M in revenue to 2200 employees and ~$700M ARR. In his most recent role he was a Group Vice President of Sales managing a 140 person team that generated $100M+ in revenue.
Thank you to all of our customers and partners who have provided feedback and guidance in developing and bringing these new capabilities to market and welcome to the team Matt!
